We’ve run into this problem and the problem is related to Adobe Acrobat writing to a temporary directory filled with more than 65,000 files. When this happens, Adobe Acrobat will not open properly.

To fix this problem, remove the temporary files by opening a command windows, navigating to the temporary folder and then running “del Acro*.tmp”
